The Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) is delighted to be able
to support The Enterprise Olympics 2003 - in this the Year of the
Entrepreneur, and welcomes you to the host City of Liverpool.
NWDA firmly embraces the principles and practice of Enterprise
recognising that young people need to be more flexible and
entrepreneurial in their attitudes and to have opportunities to develop
their enterprise capabilities, enabling them to handle uncertainty and
make risk/reward assessments and act upon them. The knowledge, skills
and understanding of Enterprise will equip young people to recognise
and realise their own imaginative/entrepreneurial potential by applying
these qualities in creative teams to overcome uncertainty and sometimes
adversity, turning ideas into successful innovation.
The Northwest Development Agency with its partners is committed to
promote and develop the Enterprise Agenda by encouraging schools and
colleges not only to prepare young people for
employability but also to make a real contribution to
raising standards across education. This process is
supported and carried forward in the North West by the
valuable and enthusiastic contribution of organisations
such as ‘Young Enterprise’, ‘Business in the Community’,
Education Business Link Organisations’, ‘Prince’s Trust’,
Shell Live WIRE’ and many others, providing young
people with the opportunity to showcase their
Enterprising skills and talents.
