The team of students representing Northern Ireland at the Enterprise
Olympics are from Castlereagh College of Further and Higher Education which
is just a few miles from the Centre of Belfast. These young ambassadors are
the first team to represent Northern Ireland at this prestigious event.
The team is being supported by the Northern Ireland Council for the
Curriculumn, Examinations and Assessment (CCEAA). CCEA is Northern
Ireland's only examinations body. The Council also advises the Department
of Education on curriclum and assessment matters. As part of it drive to
improve the employability skills of our young people CCEA is promoting the
whole concept of enterprise. The Council recongises that the future
economic development of the community will depend on the enterprising
qualities and skills of the workforce - whether as employers or employees.
The team are mainly AVCE students who also have part-time jobs.
